When the doors stand ajar
There is a time in the year when the doors stand ajar. The old year has not fully left, and the new one has not yet arrived. In the long dark of these nights, something speaks that is hard to hear in daylight.
Those who came before us knew this. They kept the fire burning through these nights, paid attention to their dreams, and listened for what the coming year was carrying. They didn't need to explain it. They knew it the way you know the earth under your feet.
We don't fully understand it either, and we don't need to. What we have seen, year after year, is that the nights speak. In a dream, an image, a word that keeps returning, an animal that crosses your path.
This journey invites you to keep these nights with us. A few quiet minutes each day, for thirteen nights. Not to make plans for the new year, but to let it speak to you first.

Why the Holy Nights
In many old traditions, the nights from Christmas Eve to Epiphany stand outside ordinary time. Each night is said to carry one month of the year ahead. What moves in you on the first night speaks of January. What moves on the twelfth speaks of December.
We don't ask you to believe this. We invite you to try it, and to notice what you hear.
The themes stay a surprise. We don't share the themes of the nights in advance. Each night opens on its own morning. That way you don't arrive with a plan. You arrive open, and you receive what that night brings.

Your animal ally and plant ally
On the thirteenth night something is added.
In a guided journey you meet an animal and a plant who will walk with you through the year ahead. They are not chosen for you. You receive them yourself, in your own way, in the quiet of that night.
An animal ally carries a way of moving through the world. A plant ally carries a way of growing, of waiting, of rooting. Together they are companions for the months to come: something to return to when the year gets loud.
And one year later, we come together again to hear what your allies have shown you.
What you will receive
Every day of the journey, an email that opens the night. It arrives each morning (CET). In your online space you'll find two audios for that night, a talk on its theme and a guided meditation, together with a small practice and questions for reflection. You choose your own moment.
On the thirteenth night, a live online gathering with us. You receive your animal ally and plant ally in a guided journey, and there is room to share. A recording follows for those who can't be there.
One year later, an online gathering in late November 2027, to share the wisdom your allies have brought you through the year.
Everything stays available in your online space, to listen again whenever you like.
How much time? Twenty to thirty minutes a day. Longer if you want to stay with it. If a night passes by, it will be there for you the next day.

Is this for you?
This journey may be for you if you carry a lot through the year and long for a quieter beginning. If you feel there is more to hear than your plans and resolutions can tell you. If you can give yourself a short pause each day, even in a busy week.
It is probably not for you if you are looking for an intensive course, a quick answer, or a program full of assignments. The Holy Nights ask for little. Mostly they ask you to listen.
No experience is needed. Many people join for the first time, and many return every year.

Who is guiding you
We are Hélène and Danny. For more than thirty years, each of us has been sitting with people at the moment when something old is ending and something new hasn't yet arrived. For the last nine, we have done it together at Firekeeper Academy.
We know that place in between. It is where people find their way back to what gives them life. The fire has always been our companion there. Sometimes a real one, in a stone circle or under an open sky. More often the one that burns inside.
Animals and plants have long been our teachers. This winter, for the first time, we bring them into the Holy Nights.
This is our third year of keeping these nights, and more than 150 people have walked them with us.
You'll hear our voices every day. Not as teachers with answers, but as two people by the fire, keeping the space while you listen.
